A Great Day at the Brooklyn Flea

It was another awesome day at the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Green. The sun was finally shining, and everyone was out to try some of the awesome local goodies that the flea is becoming more and more known for.
We had a great day, and ended up selling out by 3:30pm! As much as I hate leaving the latecomers cupcakeless, it was pretty fun getting to walk around and talk to all the other vendors at the market.

A new addition to the market that I'm really excited about are my good friends, and amazing chocolatiers, The Mast Brothers......

Myself being an expert (or at least in my eyes) on chocolate I can personally tell you that these boys do it right.
"Unlike many chocolatiers who use couverture — discs of pre-made chocolate that can be remelted for confections and bars — Rick Mast, 31, and Mike Mast, 28, are one of a dozen or so American chocolate artisans who hand make chocolate from cocoa bean to bar. "-Brooklyn Based

This weekend I decided to try the Chocolate & Pecan Bar which was, of course, amazing. The one thing that I've noticed about their chocolate is how smooth it is. With %64 cocoa you still get the intensely bittersweet flavor that dark chocolate is known for, but unlike a lot of the dark chocolate I've bought it comes with a delightfully velvety, and melt in your mouth texture. Totally awesome.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well!
