Queer America

This blog is turning into a blog both about cupcakes, and my sister, but I don't even care. If you happen to go to the New York Times online today, you will see both an article and a short video on the project my sister Molly Landreth has been working on for 5 years now called Queer America. She's finally getting the recognition she deserves for all her hard work, and I'm so so so proud of her. <3

"A young couple sit inside a parked car, the city lights glittering behind them. The scene evokes teenage dreams, long makeout sessions and big-time ambitions. It is classic Americana. Except for one thing: both are women.

“By inserting a queer subject, it’s rewriting the narrative,” said Molly Landreth, the photographer. “It’s acknowledging that these lives exist parallel to the straight lives that are always seen in these iconic images.”'
