From Green Market to Flea Market

With gas prices on the rise, and our economy continuing to fall, Kumquat Cupcakery is beginning to look at food in a new light......a much more local light. It's true that for bakers finding everything you need to make that delicious chocolate cake right around the corner from where you live might be difficult. However, even buying 10% of our ingredients from local farmers can have an impact. Studies show that "buying your goods from your local businesses rather than national chains generates about three times as much money for your local economy" (not to mention the fact it tastes a heck of a lot better).

This week, we begin with fruit. Be looking for these amazing fruits at the market this Sunday, but in cupcake form. :)

Happy eating,
Keavy
