I've always thought of my mini cupcakes like little flowers, even referred to some presentations as looking like bouquets, but never before have I gone so far as to turn them into roses. I had so much fun mixing the colors of the frosting and piping on the petals.....I didn't get that illustration degree for nothin! ;)

Did you make the roses directly on the cuppies or did you make them somewhere else and transfer them later? I'm not very good at transferring roses. Love how yours turned out.

I tried transferring them at first, but then realized that since the the cupcakes were so small and already domed I could make the roses directly on top and skip the middle man. It gives me more control. :)
